This is abhorrent, what happened at Penn State. The idea that *anyone* with knowledge that an adult pinned a boy, A CHILD to the floor of a locker room shower and anally raped him……. but did not immediately report such behavior to the police…. inhuman. That’s the only way to describe such a failure to act.
Even if you only knew of it second hand, you have a clear moral obligation to report what you know. I don’t care if it’s a stranger or my own brother, that is behavior that if you cannot stop that incident, then you must ensure that it never happens again.
A clear failure of the moral compass that is in each of. And a failure that occurred in many, many people in Happy Valley. That’s how what happened at Penn State has been described, and accurately so.
We’re talking about children. They must be protected. And they did not.
So shameful.
